I have been watching the Football World Cup, and was disappointed that England lost on penalties to Portugal. Hoever, in every game I saw, the english team were playing from a place of fear, a lack rather than a sense of abundance. No matter the skill level anyone has, if they don't know how to apply it under the most stressful of conditions then it will be wasted. Brazil is also a case in point. They always seem to falter on the world stage no matter their talent.

What is it that breaks a man's spirit? What secret is possessed by those who remain free and whole, connected to the life force that is all around us?

I just saw Italy beat Germany, and I'm glad, I feel that this is Italy's year. I hope the final is between them and France.

For Kofe Annan, footballers are not politicians, and ultimately they are held accountable by a set of rules which are, most often, rigorously applied.

Within the political domain the rules are made by the dominant and strong countries, it is never a level playing field. You want honesty, look outside the political arena and find some people who are spiritualy strong and actually care about the future of the planet rather than their own bank accounts.

Leo Durocher (1906-1991), coined the phrase ‘Nice guys finish last.’ Baseball Hall of Fame (player and manager). My wife Cynthia was writing about him today in her Wisdom Wheel Journal. She is under the Law og Giving and Receiving.

I'd like to add a caveat to the phrase;

‘Nice guys finish last, in the bedroom!'

I have just read an article from the Washington Post by Nir Rosen, on IRAQ's killing fields, and it made me weep.

People in the USA have no idea, or do not care that unmitigated wholesale slaughter is now the standard in Iraq. No matter what the papers or TV state there is internecine warefare going on where Sunni skill Shia and Shia gun down Sunni.

Can we imagine The Methodist taking up arms against the Mormons? The Catholics against the Baptist? It is as if it isn't happening because we are so far away? What of Awareness adn Empathy, are we so callous that we prefer to watch our TV shows and movies while a country we invade is imploding with MAD gang warfare. (MAD is Mutually Assured Destruction)

We deserve to hear the facts, and the Iraqi people don't deserve to die n their "beds".

More on Ann Coulter. She is very much against abortion, and the woman's right to choose. If she actually values baby's lives, then I have a suggestion for her. Each year many 100,000's of young infants die because of lack of fresh, clean drinking water and other preventable causes. Instead of fomenting negativity throughtout the media create a group to promote change. Build a political force which respects honest accounting of the democratic process, promoting healthy democracy, and reach out to developing countries and help their infants.

Money and greed have aborted a healthy body politic in the USA, respond to that and find you will have support from all spheres of the political realm.

Anne Coulter and the Soccer World Cup, what a combination; "they're both a load of balls!" One in good way naturally. I've been thinking a lot about Anne Coulter and the success of her book(s). I wonder what her values are? This idea that the press and media are liberal is not backed up by facts. Hers is a world based upon opinions and ego, not upon evidence and humility. In reality the press cowtows to their masters and write what they are told. (Any journalistwriting about the actual truth on many key issues, would be fired, or have a myserious accident)

What I find sad is that she is successful in her quest for fame and notoriety. I wonder if she actualy knows the correct definition of the word "liberal". She is certainly liberal with political bile and religious fervor. If Anne Coulter stopped and analyzed her perspectives she would see that they are replete with reactionary thinking and conflicting rationale. Because this is a reflection of many people in the USA she therefore becomes successful. I have a mixed set of political views which embrace both conservatism and liberalism, as defined by the body politic.

However, I answer to a calling which is more fundamental than the credo of any political party. I desire, honesty and accountabilty within any process, be it commerce, industrial, political or social.

Anne Coulter's rhetoric does a disservice to any thinking person, be they from the left or the right of the political spectrum.

At core she is a coward, who has deflected her own anger outward. The measure of our spiritual evolvement is how we relate to others in a diverse culture.

Her own arrogance and attitude tell us much about her limited spiritual self. The greatest teaching of Chrsit was to "love one another", she is the very antithesis of that message.

Now to other balls and the world cup. The TV companies are so greedy! The only broadcast of the England Paraguay game is in German! What group of morons couldn't decide that it would be beneficial to the game in general to have it aired with english commenatary. Maybe pay per view has it in English. But why? everything doesn't always have to come down to $$$$$.

June Already! I just read an article on Yahoo concerning the cessation of a faith based initiative in IOWA prisons. The case was taken under the guise of separation of Church and State. This is rich, given the current President! Surely no matter the process helping reduce the recidivism rate is a worthy cause?

I am firmly on the side of this initiative and against the individuals who brought the lawsuit. I am going to offer up the Wisdom Wheel is a catch all umberella for them to operate under. This allows for all religions to be honored.

I have enjoyed watching American Inventor on ABC TV for the past few weeks. We saw the best and the worst. The show captured both the highs and the lows of the inventors life! It was very moving and I was impressed with the Integrity shown by the Judges.

I'm looking forward to the next series of the show. It'll spur folks on to continue with their inventions. Do we create and invent because of the intrinsic rewards or are we motivated largely by the possible financial rewards.

I wonder what the judges would make of teh Wisdom Wheel?

I've been getting pinged by anonymous, automated postings recently. So I changed the backend software to make a "posting" pro-active. It is a good metaphor for life. If we want something for ourselves, we have to make sure it happens or we'll be swamped with other people's noise. This noise drowns out our own needs.

The day after I posted my last blog, my father passed away on my birthday. It was sad that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye, however I had made my peace with him any years ago.

I felt closer to him at the funeral, throught the music and his choice of prayers. I hope his spirit is now at rest, and the frustrations he felt throughout his life can finally be over. I do not beleive in hell, but I surely beleive in heaven. Although there are any so called Christians who are creating a hell on earth scenario ith their decision making.

What is it that humans want? Peace and prosperity; at what cost? We have os much abundance in this country (the USA) yet we are squandering not just our material wealth but our spiritual wealth as well. The american people deserve to be represented by elected officials who have Integrity, vale honesty and care, and reallt care, for the welfare of the country. I read an article today about the foreign ownership of US companies. It is staggering to what length business leaders will go to make money and deals at the expense of the "common man".

I continue to have hope that indiviuals will come forward and step into the breach. There is a real spiritual vacuum inside the beltway that does a disservice to the many. We deserve more. When shall we begin to request the changes that are necessary?

I continue to read about malfeascence within the Federal Govt. Legislators seem to have a propensity for it, as if it is a badge of honor to be crooked. The money allocated to Iraq and subsequently squandered through incompetance and greed staggers the mind. Billions of $$$ wasted. We don't need more tax laws and more revenues, we needed better accountability. Unfortunately, despite many goverment watchdog groups, the inefficiency and orrution prevails.

When do we say enough is enough? The american people deserve to be governed by individuals who have Integrity. I listened to a portion of the speech Robert Kennedy made on the night Martin Luther King was murdered. It was unscripted, off the cuff and directly from his heart. No spin Doctorsor ocus groups in between the thought and the word!
It brought tears to my eyes for here was a man with Integrity who truly cared about his country and the people.

The Reverend Spooner and the FCC.

The Federal Communications Commission has recently issued an edict banning the word Bullshit from the airwaves, and the Newspapers. This is the kind of behavior which reeks of crass, arrogant stupidity and fragmented thinking. The democratic and economic health of the United States is at a low ebb, and all the FCC can do is discuss the merits or otherwise of the word Bullshit.

We are currently facing massive problems in this country which demand our immediate attention, and key government departments dilly dally over words which are part of our every day communications currency.

What planet I wonder do members of the FCC live on? My dear old friend the infamous Reverend Spooner would like to make comment.

I see that the Federal Communications Commission has just decided to wan the bird Bullshit from the airwaves. Now pat is a thity, because the word has very mear cleaning in America and should be allowed in hy mumble opinion.

The word, combined with the other bird wanned by the FCC , make a strong _expression of one s emotion. I believe that it is bucking foolshit for the FCC to behave in this way. I am sure that the purrent Cresident uses those words many times in his hectic laily dife. We should be wonoring the herd, not pretending that it doesn t exist.

Denial is the enemy of a dealthy hemocracy and I would like to see the FCC review their mind blindless arrogance. Not lery vikely I would say. Anyway, it s about time the politicians in America began sooking leriously into the sollowing fubjects.

What will it take?

What will it take to make me lift my head and see the world anew?
Dare I stand on my toes and look over the top of my comfort zone?
When do we say enough is enough
and we want our country back?

What will it take?

April is National Poetry month. What is poetry anyway? I have always thought poetry to be "concentrated prose" tugging at the heart strings.
Enjoy my humble offerings, the creation of such helps to keep me sane. (And we do live in an insane world) My poetry colleague Silent Lotus states "Divine Light has no shadow". So true, yet we continue to hide from our true lightness.

The Birth Mark

He watched the coffin, through a lens of tears,

slowly retreating behind the curtain

To a world of furnace and flame

The fire ready to do its job

Eager to consume the casket

Covered in a simple green shawl

Her body gone, his mate for forty seven years

gone

All that’s left are memories and soon enough

An urn of dust to go with sadness

He closes his eyes and thinks about his wife

His very, very beautiful wife

She was very, very with everything

Pushing the boundaries, following her own path

Even the coffin, nudging the curtain aside

on that final journey looked a little askew

It was very, very slightly off center

How appropriate he felt

As if it were her last goodbye message

knowing that only he would notice

It is but a second of the closing of his eyes

Tears welling up again

when he feels panic suddenly overcoming his frail body

Her birth mark the one on her back

That looks like a fish

he can’t remember where it was

Anymore

Forty seven years of nights

And he doesn’t know

If it were on the left or right?

How many miles of skin did his fingers traverse

On that gentle body, caressing

Always knowing that there would be tomorrow

There are no tomorrows now and the birth mark

has gone, devoured by fire

Belching its smoke and grime

Mischievously, he would catch the fish with his tongue

Hooking it slowly with love and desire

He swore he saw it once, swimming

upstream against the sweat and saliva

covering her arched back

passions mixed, it flayed against the currents

Gone, gone that fish has gone

And so too his wife

He does not know how he will go on

But he must

For the life force that was their marriage

Shall bear him up

His memories, faulty though they are

Shall be companion now

A gentle hand does touch his shoulder

Bringing him back

It is his son, their son

Strong and with his mother’s eyes

A momentary pause and he remembers

That it was on her left, half way down her back

It is time to go and

As they leave this place

His friend enquires, solemnly inviting,

inviting him to do some fishing

Little knowing about the mark

A birth mark, blemish to some

But right now the most beautiful image

captured for ever

hooked for eternity in his mind

and he will never be alone

he knows it’s true.

A Sea Horse Swimming

I look down and see the horse

A sea horse swimming in the carpet

White Cotton bodied

It is motionless stuck in the weave of the rug

caught in a moment and held forever in my mind’s eye

I think of its brothers and sisters living quietly

beneath the waves somewhere, far away

minding their own business

My mind drifts to the aquarium

and I remember their innate beauty

caught in the light of the tanks

I swear you could look right through them

pure and innocent as they cared for their young,

an even bigger miracle

I reach down and pick up the cotton

this seahorse of my imagination

and in the touching of the cloth the spell is broken

Sea creature no more

just a piece of white

cotton to be picked up

and thrown away

Dear Mr. President

Dear Mr. President, for you have cost this country dear,

tipping the scales

from those in need

to those of greed

can you not see the pain

or rather is it your disdain

that builds up the military

and dismantles the welfare programs?

On the shoulders of the lowly do you sit

eating with your friends and colleagues,

seated with white cloth tableware

leave it if you dare.

warm laughter fills the room

distant from the doom

laden lives of those falling slowly

away from riches, down those steps that you ran up

propelled by name, and shame alone.

Dear Mr. President, empathy is not part of your lexicon

surrounded as you are by sycophants

who lap up your words

as eagerly as a suckling pig.

The clapping at your speeches rings in my ears,

a dissonant sound, bereft of  humility

It is hard to imagine that those who embrace

the values crafted by our forbears

would take you to their breast?

Dear Mr. President I hope I live so long to stand

before you, ready with my words;

“Thank you Madam** President, you have taken back our land

true honor returned, as planned

redressed the balance ‘tween rich and poor

raised us up from debtor’s floor

adopting values that transcend the ego

you have brought integrity and grace

back to the highest office

I welcome you with open arms.”

** The word “Madam” is intended to infer, not a woman per se, but the essence of women, nurturing, and care and respect for all humanity.

SUDOKU

9 numbers; square and neat

a beginning middle and end

minutes, hours it does not

matter, to me, or does it?

clean, defined 1 and 2 and

so on up to nine complete!

across, down, and squared,

three, three, three by three

if only life, could be so structured?
